Online Safety and Information Sharing... The Internet is a great place to get information and communicate with others but safety is important too. You really have to be careful about revealing any personal information via the internet. The reason? You can never be sure what will happen to the information that you send through cyberspace. There are some very important things that you need to keep in mind when you're on your computer. First and always remembering to never to give out personal information such as your name, home address or telephone number in a chat room or on bulletin boards. Always keep your passwords secret. Learn what "cookies" are and what is does and watch out for "spam." Sometimes you may want to be anonymous and most of all decide what information you want to provide. If you send text to a blog or website then don't include anything that you wouldn't want shared with the world. The internet is great if used safely.
